About Rotorua

Rotorua truly is New Zealand’s playground with something for everyone from the thrill seeker to those that want to just kick their shoes off and relax. There are so many things to do around this exciting city, come and take a look around and enjoy a holiday in Rotorua!

The Whakarewarewa Forest (The Redwoods) is world renowned as a premier mountain biking destination and it’s no surprise with continually evolving tracks for all levels of abilities including fun ones for the kids, a day out for the entire family and right through to the more experienced hard core riders. Best of all – these tracks are all free to ride! Cool events are held in the forest all year round including the Rotorua Bike Festival in February.
Check out Skyline Rotorua’s MTB Gravity Park, New Zealand’s first year-round Gondola assisted bike lift, giving you easy access to a network of over 10km of world class mountain bike trails.  This is also the host site of Crankworx since 2015.

Rotorua is spoilt for choice being surrounded by several sparkling lakes. We have some of the best trout fishing in the country as well as a number of great spots for wakeboarding and skiing. There’s natural lakeside hot pools and scenic walking tracks to explore. Just let us know what you enjoy and we can advise which lake suits best.

We have a multitude of adventure activities, to mention just a few…you can throw yourself down the hill in a giant inflatable ball at Ogo, fly through the canopy of our native forests with Canopy Tours or raft over the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world at Okere Falls!

Rotorua has long been known for its geothermal activity and this natural power and beauty is harnessed to bring you a unique spa experience. Immerse yourself in the geothermal waters at any number of hot pools, treat yourself to a luxury Mud Spa treatment and admire erupting geysers and bubbling mud pools all across the city. It’s all here to see and enjoy!
